Japanese FDI Investment Promotion Conference in the Mekong Delta

Following the Investment Promotion Conference on High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Areas for Green Growth in the Mekong Delta, held on the afternoon of October 21, 2025, at the Embassy of Viet Nam in Tokyo, on the morning of December 12, 2025, in Can Tho City, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Viet Nam, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan and the People’s Committee of Can Tho City, organized a program to promote Japanese FDI in the agricultural sector in the Mekong Delta region. Sorimachi Vietnam played an active role in supporting both events, contributing to the attraction of Japanese enterprises and encouraging their participation in investment activities, thereby strengthening Viet Nam–Japan cooperation in high-tech and sustainable agriculture.

Under the theme “Promoting Japanese FDI Investment in the Project for Sustainable Development of One Million Hectares of High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Areas for Green Growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030,” the conference focused on discussions on cooperation opportunities, technological investment, and technical solutions. The event also highlighted the important role of Japanese enterprises, investors, and science and technology organizations in agricultural production, processing, trade, mechanization, carbon credit management, as well as the application of AI, Big Data, MRV systems, smart sensors, and the development of a circular economy.

At the conference, Mr. Tsukahara Hiroyuki, representative of Sorimachi Vietnam, introduced the project “High-Quality, Sustainable, and Low-Carbon Rice Value Chain,” which is being implemented in several provinces across the Mekong Delta. The project integrates three software platforms—Hanbai, FaceFarm, and WACA—to digitalize the entire value chain from production to sales, thereby improving operational efficiency and transparency. He also shared plans to cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to develop a nationwide shared digital platform, scheduled to be rolled out starting in 2026.

Through its innovative projects and digital solutions, Sorimachi Vietnam continues to play a pioneering role in promoting sustainable and efficient agricultural production, strengthening Viet Nam–Japan cooperation, and establishing benchmarks for modern, transparent, and globally integrated agricultural value chains.
